New Delhi: The City Hybrid e:HEV is here and it's the biggest launch by Honda ever due to its significance in terms of technology as it is the first proper strong hybrid available in this segment. Here are 10 things you need to know about the City e:HEV.

1. It is a strong hybrid which means the City e:HEV has two electric motors connected to a 1.5l petrol engine. Unlike smart hybrids you can drive in electric power only for short speeds. Hence, it is ideal for city use at low speeds or low traffic. It is driven by the motor using the battery in EV mode. The other modes are EV Drive Mode, Hybrid Drive Mode and Engine Drive

2. Unlike electric cars, the City e:HEV is self charging which means there is no need to charge it yourself. Electrical energy through braking self-charges the Lithium Ion battery pack. There is also a Deceleration Paddle Selector where you get 3 levels to choose from and you can do one pedal driving basically without needing to use brakes. There is no conventional gearbox as well.

3. The City e:HEV has a combined power output of 126 PS while importantly the mileage of 26.5 km/l enables it to be the most efficient above 4m sedan and also delivers real world figures which not even hatchbacks can manage.

4. There are ADAS features now in the City e:HEV and it is the first such sedan in its class to have this feature. The Honda sensing technology uses front cameras while in total it gets Collision Braking System (CMBS), Adaptive Cruise Control, Road Departure Mitigation (RDM), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) and Auto High-Beam.

5. In terms of more tech, the City e:HEV gets connected car tech with nearly 40 features plus integration with Alexa and Ok Google. There are remote functions too.
