MG Cyberster Roadster Could Be First All-Electric Two-Seater In India?
MG Cyberster looks compact yet aggressive and quite sharp while the supercar-like scissor doors are also quite cool
MG Motor at a recent event showed its Cyberster and it is an important car with which MG is bringing back its compact roadster for which it was so well known. The Cyberster is an all-electric small yet affordable roadster sports car with scissor doors.
It looks compact yet aggressive and quite sharp while the supercar-like scissor doors are also quite cool. The roof is a fabric one and it takes 10 seconds to drop the roof. The fabric roof is a throwback to the roadster and this car is also about bringing back the cars that MG used to make.
It is also quite quick with a twin motor layout which develops 510bhp. This means that in top-spec form, the Cyberster is very quick and comparable to sports cars. The range given is roughly 450km which is enough for a sports car. There is also a single-motor version with rear-wheel drive.

Cyberster Is Quite New Car Globally
Interestingly, there is a lot of tech on offer with no less than four screens on the inside! The interiors are not retro though and come across as quite luxurious too. The Cyberster is quite a new car globally as well while MG will use this as a halo car. The question is whether it can come to India? There are not too many sports cars and certainly electric ones while the car on display at the recent MG event did cause a lot of excitement.
We think as a limited-numbers halo car, the MG Cyberster could work based on its looks and the appeal that it brings. Of course, being imported it will not be cheap but again volumes are not the main objective for MG here and in India too, if sold in small numbers the Cyberster could be an interesting product for sure.
