Cyclone Jawad: Trains Cancelled Due To IMD Alert For Heavy Rainfall In Andhra & Odisha — Check List

Due to the threat posed by the cyclone 'Jawad', railways have decided to cancel several trains as a precautionary measure and for the safety of passengers.

Cyclone Jawad: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday issued an alert regarding the arrival of cyclone 'Jawad'. According to the Met department, a low-pressure area will be formed in the Andaman Sea in the next 12 hours.

On December 2, it will intensify into a depression which may hit the coasts of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha on the morning of December 4.

Almost all districts of South Bengal are likely to receive heavy rainfall due to the cyclone. Keeping this in mind, the West Bengal government has advised the farmers to harvest the corn crops standing in the fields as heavy rains may cause damage to the crops. According to IMD, the storm might have an impact on Chhattisgarh as well.

On the other hand, Mrutyunjay Mohapatra, Director General of IMD has informed about the rains in the coastal district of Odisha from December 3.

He requested all the fishermen going to the sea to return by December 2. Due to the threat posed by the cyclone 'Jawad', railways have decided to cancel several trains as a precautionary measure and for the safety of passengers. Many trains have been cancelled for December 3 and 4.
