'Publicity Mania': Andhra CM Jagan Blames Chandrababu Naidu Over Deaths During Rally

Also, Jagan Mohan Reddy said, "Chandrababu killed eight people for his political benefits it is so heinous and shameful."

Chennai: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday slammed Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Chandrababu Naidu for the eight deaths caused during a stampede at a roadshow of the party at Kandur in Nellore district. Calling out Chandrababu Naidu for his alleged "publicity mania", AP CM also blamed TDP leader for the deaths and sought a public apology.

According to NDTV, Reddy said, "Chandrababu killed eight people for his political benefits it so heinous and shameful."

He said, for a photo shoot especially for a drone shot the party workers were pushed into a narrow lane to show the few people as big numbers and they also used vehicles to barricade the area. Eight people were killed in this and will there be anything worse, he asked.

During a public meeting, Reddy also said that the TDP chief did this before too. The former CM was the reason for the death of 29 people during Godavari Pushkaralu in 2015. So, this is not new for him and he cares only for the public.

Further, Reddy said that Naidu took out another road show the next day after the deaths without any "repentance".

Naidu also mentioned the caste names of the people who died for petty political gains, Reddy said.

The CM also charged Naidu for pinning the blame on the public and not taking moral responsibility for the death of eight people.

Explaining about politics, Reddy said that politics is not about shooting, drama or dialogues but the changes we are able to bring in the families of marginalised groups, transforming governance and healthcare system.

Earlier, TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu apologized for the mishap and announced Rs 24 lakh each to the families of the eight deceased members.
