Lok Sabha Election: AP Court Restrains Parties From Making Remarks On Vivekanada Reddy Murder Case In Campaign

Earlier, CM Jagan Mohan Reddy came under attack by Opposition parties including APCC chief YS Sharmila and Vivekananda Reddy's daughter Suneetha Nareddy.

A Kadapa district court on Thursday issued an ad-interim injunction directing leaders of the Opposition to refrain from making any reference to the Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy murder case, which is currently being handled by the CBI court, throughout the ongoing election campaign.

The order came based on a petition filed by YSRCP Kadapa district president K Suresh. The ad-interim injunction ordered by Kadapa Principal District Judge G Sridevi will be in force until April 30, according to a report on Times of India.

“This court is of considered opinion that when a case is pending before a competent court for adjudication, no one is entitled to step into the shoes of the court themselves with no authorisation and give their verdict and term any of the person so involved in such in such case, as murder/ guilty person, according to their whim and fancies,” the court observed, as per a report on PTI.

In his petition, the YSRCP leader cited seven leaders including N. Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Pawan Kalyan of the Jana Sena Party, Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) chief Y.S. Sharmila, Dr. Narreddy Suneetha (daughter of Vivekananda Reddy), BJP state chief D. Purandeswari, and Pulivendula TDP candidate Ravindranath Reddy that they were allegedly implicating the Chief Minister, even though he had no involvement in the case.

Earlier, CM Jagan Mohan Reddy came under attack by Opposition parties including APCC chief YS Sharmila and Vivekananda Reddy's daughter Suneetha Nareddy.

Vivekananda Reddy, the younger brother of former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy, was allegedly murdered at his residence in Pulivendula, Kadapa district, in March 2019. Among the accused in this case is the current Kadapa Lok Sabha Member, Y S Avinash Reddy, who is currently facing legal proceedings regarding this matter.
