Andhra CM Jagan Reddy Meets Amit Shah In Delhi, Discusses Irrigation Project, Dues Of Discom

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy met Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday. During the visit, Jagan Mohan Reddy appealed to Amit Shah to look into the long-pending issues in Andhra Pradesh including reimbursement of Rs 1,310 crore arrears for the Polavaram Irrigation project. In the meeting spanning 45 minutes, Reddy reportedly requested the Union Minister to help the state and its people.

One of the main topics discussed during the meeting was the reimbursement of Rs 1,310 crore in arrears incurred by the state from its exchequer for the Polavaram project.
Additionally, he asked for the early release of Rs 17,144 crore rather than the Rs 12,912 crore intended for the first phase's completion in order to undertake the rehabilitation and resettlement package for the affected residents of 36 colonies in accordance with the Lidar survey. He further urged Shah to take decisive action to see that the Telangana government pays due for Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation (APGENCO) of Rs 7,230 crore for the electricity delivered between 2014 and 2017.
Reddy met Maharashtra deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis in Delhi before meeting the Home Minister. On Friday, Reddy also attended CM's conference organised by Union Home Minister against left-wing extremism in the country, reported PTI, as per sources. Earlier, Reddy opined that ongoing and coordinated efforts from the Centre and states are required to stop the spread of LWE.
On Thursday, he met Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Power Minister R K Singh in Delhi to discuss state-specific concerns, including the Polavaram irrigation project.
On Saturday, the CM will leave for Vijayawada.
