Chandrababu Naidu Visits Arrested TDP Spokesperson Kommareddy Pattabhiram's Residence

All the workers were produced in court on Wednesday and sent to 14-day judicial remand for allegedly abusing Gannavaram circle inspector P Kanaka Rao.

Chennai: TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu visited the residence of TDP spokesperson Kommareddy Pattabhiram who is currently under remand in connection with Gannavaram clashes on February 20. 

According to ANI, “TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu visited the residence of TDP leader Kommareddy Pattabhiram who was sent by the court in Gannavaram to 14-day remand in a case related to clashes there on Feb 20.”

Earlier, the police took TDP spokesman Kommareddy Pattabhiram and 13 other leaders into custody after the incident of a clash between YSRCP and TDP workers in Gannavaram. On Wednesday, all the workers were produced in court and sent to 14-day judicial remand for allegedly abusing Gannavaram circle inspector P Kanaka Rao. The leaders were booked under sections including attempt to murder of IPC and SC/ST Atrocities Act. 

The workers were also charged for reportedly not letting the police do their duty, said a report on The New Indian Express. 

The police also registered a case against two YSRCP leaders for attack on a woman TDP leader. 

Meanwhile, the action comes after tensions at Gannavaram of Krishna district. A war of words broke out between ruling YSRCP and TDP workers which soon turned into a fight. Miscreants vandalised TDP office in Gannavaram and cars belonging to TDP leaders. The TDP workers alleged that attack was carried out by YSRCP activists and followers of local MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi.

However, TDP spokesperson K Pattabhiram was reportedly detained after he reached Gannavaram to protest against the attack, as per a report on The Hindu.
