AP CM Jagan Mohan Reddy To Lay Foundation Stone For Steel Plant In YSR Kadapa District
JSW Steel will invest Rs 8,800 crore in two phases to build the plant in Jammalamadugu
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy would perform bhumi puja for the steel plant project in Sunnapurallapalle village of YSR Kadapa district on February 15. JSW Steel will invest Rs 8,800 crore in two phases to build the plant in Jammalamadugu.
A total of 3,295 acres have been acquired for the project In the Jammalamadugu Mandal.
According to the National Steel Policy of 2017, India's steel-making capacity is expected to reach 300 million tonnes per year by 2030. In order to promote industrial growth in the state, the YSR Steel Corporation Ltd (previously AP High-Grade Steels Ltd) was formed on November 21, 2019, as a wholly-owned subsidiary of the AP government with the mission of establishing a steel plant in the YSR District.
On December 23, 2019, the Chief Minister officially laid the foundation for APHSL at the village of Sunnapuraalla Palle. The enterprise was to manufacture high-grade steel products with a capacity of up to 3 million metric tonnes per annum (MTPA). It planned to take advantage of its closeness to major auto and industrial hubs, proximity to raw material sources, and connectivity by road, rail, sea, and air. Expectations were that it would drive the region’s growth by providing direct and indirect employment opportunities for over 25,000 people.
CM YS Jagan Inaugurates 20 Tourist Police Stations
On Tuesday, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy virtually inaugurated 20 tourist police stations across Andhra Pradesh from his camp office in Tadepalli.
The CM stated on this occasion that tourist police stations were being established with the primary goal of providing foolproof security to the temple as well as ensuring the safety of all visiting devotees.CM Jagan also virtually inaugurated Visakhapatnam's tourist police kiosks. These kiosks were being set up at four places: R.K. Beach, the YMCA, Tenneti Park, and Rushikonda.
