Andhra Pradesh: Face Recognition Attendance System At Govt Offices Soon
Andhra Pradesh Education Department highlighted that the app can still work even with network issues while registering attendance.
Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Botsa Satyanarayana said on Thursday that a face recognition attendance system would be implemented in all government offices in Andhra Pradesh, starting with the education department. He also said that the state government is taking all the policy decisions positively.
On Thursday, Minister Botsa Satyanarayana held a meeting with leaders of the teachers’ unions in Vijayawada to clear misconceptions about the app developed for the attendance of government school teachers.
Botsa said, the government was making every effort to guarantee that everyone from the chief secretary to office assistants uses the face recognition app to record their attendance. He also assured that the issues raised by teachers in using the app would be resolved soon.
The Minister said that Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy's government was pro-employee and that the administration was always prepared to deal with any problem related to the new attendance system.
The issues in implementing the policies for quality education of students will also be rectified, he said.

The Education Minister made it clear that the current regulations governing teachers' attendance had not been changed in any way. He clarified that if an employee arrives at work late for the fourth time, it will be treated as half-day leave as earlier.
Education department representatives highlighted how the App works even with network issues while registering attendance. There are 1.83 lakh teachers in the State. Of the total, about one lakh teachers have registered in the App so far.
It was decided to treat the first 15 days as a training phase to make it easier for the rest to download the App and get used to it, he said.
