3 Killed, 5 Injured After Three-Storey Building Collapses In Visakhapatnam
The teams rescued five persons, who suffered severe injuries in the incident
Three persons including two children died and five others suffered severe injuries after a three-storey building collapsed in Ramajogipeta near the Collectorate in Visakhapatnam.
National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Police and Fire service personnel teams rushed to the spot to rescue those trapped under the debris. The teams rescued five persons, who suffered severe injuries in the incident, and they shifted the injured to the King George hospital for treatment.
The deceased were identified as Saketi Anjali, 14, Saketi Durgaprasad, 16, Chothur, 35.
"An incident of house collapse was reported last midnight. Police rescued 6 people while 3 succumbed, which includes 2 kids. Prima-facie evidence shows that the neighbour had dug up the adjacent land for foundation, due to which this house’s foundation got weak. Even yesterday, he was getting a borewell dug in the adjacent land. A case has been registered & probe underway" Visakhapatnam CP Ch Srikanth told ANI.

According to the ABP Desam report, the incident took place around 1.30 am on Thursday, and the building is nearly two-decade old. The incident has triggered panic in the locality. After the collapse, locals rushed to the spot and managed to rescue five people from the debris.
The rescue teams said that at the time of the accident, there were nine persons in the building. The reasons for the incident are yet to be determined. Rescue and search operations are underway.
