Bihar: Bhojpur Siblings To Represent India In Combat South Asia Championship, 8 Nations To Compete
Combat South Asia Championship Wrestling: Radha and the brother-sister duo of Archana and Anupam from Bhojpur will be representing India in the tournament. The team will depart on August 29.
Bhojpur's Radha, Archana and Anupam will represent India in the Combat South Asia Championship of Wrestling in Nepal's Kathmandu, a tournament set to happen from August 30-September 1. Archana and Anupam happen to be siblings. There are 8 nations including India who will be participating in the competition. 37 Wrestlers from Bihar will feature in the tournament in which 8 women and 28 male wrestlers will compete.
Teams To Depart For Kathmandu On August 29
The news was corroborated by the association's state secretary and weightlifter Dipali Nandi, also adding that the team would depart for the Nepal capital on August 29 (Thursday). Players will travel from Patna to Raxaul by train after which they will head to Kathmandu by bus. Other than India, athletes from eight countries including Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Sri Lanka and Nepal will participate in the tournament.

Notably, the first Combat Senior and Junior, Sub-Junior Women National Wrestling Championship held from 4-7 April, Bhopur's three wrestlers had won medals to ensure selection for this tournament. Bhojpur District's Radha will compete in the 69 kg category while Archa will be participate in the 57 kg category. Anupam will gear up for a bout in the 86 kg wrestling catagory.
In addition, Munji, working in the postal department of the district, has also been selected for this competition.
Bhojpur Wrestlers Won Medals In Puri
Bhojpur featured in the Combat National Wrestling for the first time. Bhojpur's Radha, Archana, Anupam won medals in their first attempt in the national wrestling championship. Radha won the gold medal while the brother-sister of Archana-Anupam clinched silver.

Meanwhile, the coaches of the three players Yogeshwar Prasad has said that all three players have been selected for the International Wrestling Competition. He said that at first he struggled with mats for training but now things have changed and he can take care of the wrestlers, even providing them food.
