Ukhrul on the map of entrepreneurship with #MadeinUkhrul project

Ukhrul (Manipur) [India], Mar 20 (ANI): In an endeavour to empower entrepreneurs and develop strategies for sustainable growth, a community-based movement, Hill Wild, is all set to bring out the second edition of #MadeinUkhrul- an entrepreneurship conclave-cum-trade fair in Manipur.

The two-day event, which will commence on April 5, will be held in the Ukhrul district, 84 kms north-east of the state capital, Imphal.

With a vision to build an economical and sustainable community through entrepreneurship under the theme 'Sustainable Ukhrul 2030', Hill Wild's project #MadeinUkhrul is aimed at empowering and promoting local artisans, skilled people and entrepreneurs to scale their businesses and create market linkage. It will also ignite the spirit of entrepreneurship and contribute altogether towards a sustainable economy.

Ukhrul, home to the foundation of Hill Wild, houses rich bio-diversity and great tourism potential. However, entrepreneurship has never been a forte of the people, despite the district being rich in flora and fauna, and hence setting examples in agriculture, horticulture and other allied products.

The event is expected to see participation from entrepreneurs, investors, mentors and buyers from across the state, particularly from the Ukhrul district.

The exhibition also aims to identify certain products that can be manufactured and produced in Ukhrul, thereby initiating the concept of processing and supplying products within the district and outside, so that citizens do not have to rely on other districts and states. At the same time, it aims to create and maintain a healthy economic and trade relationship with external entities

The event is sponsored by North Eastern Council (NEC) and is expected to see some eminent mentors and speakers. (ANI)
