Trump suggests China interfering in US-N Korea talks amid trade war

Washington DC [USA], Jul 10 (ANI): The United States President Donald Trump suggested that China may be 'exerting negative pressure' on North Korea on the denuclearization deal, due to the recent tiff between Washington and Beijing over the trade tariffs.

Trump took to his social media handle and even expressed confidence that the North Korean leader Kim Jong-un will stand by his commitment of denuclearization, made on June 12 in Singapore summit.

"I have confidence that Kim Jong Un will honor the contract we signed &, even more importantly, our handshake. We agreed to the denucleariation of North Korea. China, on the other hand, maybe exerting negative pressure on a deal because of our posture on Chinese Trade-Hope Not!," Trump Tweeted.

Recently, the Trump administration imposed tariffs of USD 34 billion on Chinese imports, escalating a fight that could hurt companies and consumers in both the countries.

Chinese goods being hit by US levies include cars, computer disk drives, pump and valve parts and LEDs.

This prompted Beijing to respond with levies on US imports.

China's retaliatory tariffs on the US goods would immediately go into effect on exports like soybeans, seafood, SUVs and crude oil.

Beijing previously issued a list of American commodities, including soybean and electric cars, worth 34 billion dollars, which it said would be subject to 25 percent tariffs. (ANI)
