Rabbani criticises RAW, ISI's former chiefs

Islamabad [Pakistan], May 25 (ANI): Pakistani politician Raza Rabbani has criticised the joint penning of a book by two former intelligence chiefs of India and Pakistan.

As per a report by the Geo News on May 25, Rabbani said in spite of Indo-Pakistan bilateral relations at an all-time low, former chief of India's Research and Analysis Wing's and Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence A.S. Dulat and Asad Durrani, respectively, co-authored a book.

"It is shocking that on one hand Pakistan and India relations are at an all-time low and on the other hand, former spy chiefs of both the countries are teaming up to write a book," Rabbani said.

Dulat and Durrani had co-authored a book named Spy Chronicles: RAW, ISI and the Illusion of Peace which has recently been published.

He further said if a civilian or a politician would have done a similar act, there would be "hue and cry".

He said a politician amounting to do such a thing would have been labeled as a "traitor".

The Spy Chronicles which has been a maiden effort by two former chiefs of rival agencies had been all over the news even before the book was published.

Earlier on Thursday, the book was released jointly by former prime minister Manmohan Singh, former vice president Hamid Ansari, and former Union minister Yashwant Sinha.

While Dulat was present at the event but his co-author Durrani failed to come as he reportedly could not get the Indian visa. (ANI)
