PTI, PML-N aligned with banned outfits against PPP: Bilawal

Lahore [Pakistan], Jul 21 (ANI): Pakistan People's Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto on Friday alleged that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) parties entered into an electoral alliance with banned organisations against his party.

Addressing media here, Bilawal said the nexus between political parties and proscribed outfits was present in the country, Geo TV reported.

Stressing that there was no room for extremism in politics, he added, "We have to set redline against extremism in the politics. We have to think what message we are giving to the world."

Revealing that his party was given a warm welcome wherever they campaigned, Bilawal underscored that there was still hope for "positive politics" in the country.

Taking a dig at the PML-N on rigging, Bilawal asserted that the party believes in "selection rather than election."

"The election should not be made controversial by facilitating a few political parties and allies," he was quoted by Geo TV as saying.

Furthermore, the Bhutto scion called for the upcoming elections to be fair and transparent.

On a related, the PPP announced that it would support Pakistan Muslim League-Zia (PML-Z) candidate Ijaz-ul-Haq for the July 25 general elections.

Haq is the son of slain military dictator, General (retd) Zia-ul-Haq, who caused the execution of Bilawal's grandfather and PPP founder, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, in 1979.

Earlier on Thursday, Bilawal had claimed that PTI chairman Imran Khan had zero chance of becoming the country's next prime minister. (ANI)
