Gilgit [Pakistan-occupied India], Aug 11 (ANI): Three policemen were killed and two others injured in a militant attack on a police check post in Kargah Valley in the Gilgit region of Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir on Saturday.

Samaa TV quoted the police as saying that a militant involved in the recent school attacks in the Daimer district was shot dead in the cross-firing.

While the injured were shifted to a local hospital, the police called in for an additional force for a search operation in the area to arrest the rest of the militants involved.

Earlier this month, 12 schools including 8-girls' schools were attacked in Chilas near Gilgit by unidentified men.

While an explosion was set off in two of the schools, the other schools were vandalised and their property was set on fire. (ANI)
