Delhi Metro's Magenta Line underground sections to open today

New Delhi [India], May 25 (ANI): The inauguration of underground sections Delhi Metro's Magenta line from Nehru Park to Central Metro is scheduled to open later in the day.

The entire stretch of the Magenta Line will be ready, extending from Botanical Garden in Noida with Janakpuri West in Delhi will be inaugurated on May 28.

Another underground metro line from Little Mount to AG-DMS in Chennai will also be inaugurated today.

Japan has been supporting the construction of the Chennai metro both technically and financially.

The government of Japan has spent around 110 billion for Chennai Metro Phase 1.

Chennai metro will provide its commuters safety, reliability, punctuality, comfort, high-frequency operations and customer satisfaction.

It will help reduce traffic congestion, air pollution and enhance sustainable urban transportation system.

Major projects for Chennai Metro Phase II and Chennai Peripheral Ring Road are currently under survey.

Japan is also contributing to the "Smart City" initiatives of Chennai, Ahmedabad and Varanasi.

This partial opening of the Chennai Metro line marks a milestone in the long-standing friendly relationship between Japan and India. (ANI)
