China calls for developing joint vision with ASEAN: Premier Li Keqiang

Beijing [China], May 6 (ANI): China is willing to work in coordination with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations to help develop a joint vision.

As reported by China's state-owned Xinhua News Agency, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang wrote in an article published in the Jakarta Post on Saturday that the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is placed at a high priority by China with respect to its neighbourhood diplomacy.

China has been a staunch supporter of ASEAN community-building and ASEAN centrality in the East Asia cooperation, Li added.

He further termed ASEAN as a multi-trading system which promotes investment liberalisation and facilitation of trade and provides a platform to negotiate the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership. He reiterated to build an East Asia economic community.

China advocated the development of a joint vision for China-ASEAN relations and taking the strategic partnership to a higher level.

India shares a close relationship with ASEAN. The year 2017 held a great relationship with ASEAN as India and ASEAN commemorated 25 years of their partnership, 15 years of summit-level interaction, and five years of strategic partnership. (ANI)
