Canadian High Commissioner to inaugurate 'THE REEL CANADA'
New Delhi [India], July 17 (ANI): Nadir Patel, Canadian high commissioner to India, will be inaugurating the first movie at 'THE REEL CANADA', a festival to celebrate Canadian films, which is set to kick-start from Wednesday.
The event will screen four Canadian movies, which were earlier showcased at the the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
The event will take place from July 18 to July 21, at the Indian Habitat Centre.
Mina Shum directed 'Meditation Park' will be the first movie to be screened at the event.
The story revolves around an Asian-Canadian grandmother named Maria who arrives at her own declaration of personal independence after discovering that her longstanding husband may not be as her worthy of her reverential treatment as she once believed.
Other films that are to be screened include- 'Hello Destroyer' directed by Kevan Funk, 'RUMBLE:The Indian who rocked the World' by Catherine Bainbridge and Stephen Dunn directed 'Closet Monster'.
'Hello Destroyer' stars Jared Abrahamson as an enforcer on a hockey team, who faces difficult consequences when a hit on an opposing player during a game turns more violent than intended
'RUMBLE:The Indian who rocked the World' explores oft-neglected history of musicians of First nation descent whose work and ancestry has yet to be adequately honoured.
'Closet Monster' revolves around an eight-year-old kid; Oscar Madly finds out that his parents are getting divorced following which he retreats into a fantasy world. (ANI)
