Student Union holds protest against CAB in Northeast & Delhi

Student union across Northeast and in the national capital, are protesting against Citizen (Amendment) Bill (CAB). The protests are being held in Manipur's Imphal, Assam's capital Guwahati and in Delhi's Jantar Mantar since morning. Meanwhile, the normal life was affected in Guwahati and other parts of Assam following an 11-hour bandh call in protest against the CAB. The bandh came into effect from 5 a.m. on Tuesday.

The Bill was passed in the Lok Sabha after division of votes with 311 in its favour and 80 against it, following a marathon debate which continued till 12.06 a.m. on Tuesday after beginning at about 4 p.m. the previous day.
