PM Modi in Nepal: What is the relevance and significance of Buddha Purnima? | ABP News
When Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Lumbini, Nepal, he was greeted by Nepalese Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba. Soon after arriving, the PM tweeted, "Happy to be among the lovely people of Nepal on the holy day of Buddha Purnima." I'm looking forward to the Lumbini programmes." He offered prayers at the Maya Devi shrine. On the occasion of Buddha Purnima, he will thereafter take part in a ceremony to lay the foundation stone for the India International Centre for Buddhist Culture and Heritage.
