J&K Assembly Elections: PM Modi To Address Mega Rally In Doda Today | ABP News
With the 2024 Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections approaching, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to campaign for his party's candidates in the union territory on Saturday, September 14. He will hold a major rally in Doda, marking the first visit by a prime minister to the district in 42 years. In preparation for the Prime Minister's visit, extensive security measures have been put in place across Doda and Kishtwar, especially around the rally venue, to ensure the event runs smoothly and peacefully. The rally will be hosted at the stadium in Doda town. Union Coal and Mines Minister and BJP election in-charge for Jammu & Kashmir, G Kishan Reddy, stated on Friday in Samba, "Prime Minister Modi's rally in Doda will be significant as it represents the first visit by any Prime Minister to the district in 42 years, the last being in 1982." Union Minister Jitendra Singh added, "There is considerable excitement among the public because PM Modi has focused on remote areas. Over the past decade, Doda has seen significant development. No Prime Minister has visited Doda in the last 50 years, but PM Modi's visit will highlight his efforts to bring remote regions up to par with more developed areas."
