Chinese FM Wang Yi lands in Delhi after controversial remark on Kashmir | Namaste Bharat
Foreign Minister and State Councillor Wang Yi came to New Delhi for his first visit in two years on Friday, hoping to calm tensions along their Himalayan border. However, he was met with an uncharacteristically low profile and even a cold reception. The visit comes at a time when both countries' military has been locked in a tense border standoff for nearly two years on the eastern sector of the Line of Actual Control (LAC). This is the Chinese foreign minister's first trip to India since the standoff began in April-May 2020 and culminated in the deaths of 20 Indian soldiers in the Galwan Valley in June 2020.
