 Shyam Saran is a former Foreign Secretary of India, who has also served as Chairman of National Security Advisory Board (NSAB). Saran has also been an advisor to the Prime Minister in 1991-92 on foreign policy, nuclear and defence–related issues. In 2011, Saran was awarded the Padma Bhushan by the President of India for his contribution to the Indian Civil Service.
