Election News: 800 crore gets recovered so far including Maharashtra, Jharkhand and by-elections
Like every election, in Maharashtra, Jharkhand elections and by-elections being held in 14 states, the Election Commission launched a campaign to prevent voters from being influenced through money, liquor and freebies. In this campaign, the Election Commission took action and recovered cash and liquor from Maharashtra and Jharkhand, which crossed Rs 800 crore. Rajasthan leads the nation in the seizure of inducements, according to statistics made public by the Election Commission.
Since March 1, seizures of a record Rs 812.77 crore have been made, according to State Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta.
Gold and silver, along with other precious metals, are valued at Rs 49.21 crore, cash at Rs 36.79 crore, booze for Rs 41.71 crore, medicines worth Rs 121.79 crore, freebies worth over Rs 563 crore, and other questionable things.
