Dr. Pavan Duggal Explains Digital Arrest and How to Stay Safe | Paisa Live

In an exclusive interview with Paisa Live, renowned Cyberlaw expert Dr. Pavan Duggal shed light on the growing concerns of digital arrests and the rising tide of cybercrimes. Dr. Duggal emphasized that digital arrests often trap individuals in a web of fear and FOMO (Fear of Missing Out), exploiting their anxieties to extort money. This type of cybercrime manipulates victims into making impulsive decisions, often leading them to make costly mistakes. Dr. Duggal elaborated on the tactics employed by cybercriminals, explaining how they use psychological tricks to pressure individuals into actions that put them at risk. He highlighted that one of the most common strategies involves scaring victims with false legal or financial threats, ultimately luring them into handing over money or personal information. He stressed the importance of vigilance in safeguarding oneself against these kinds of attacks. To avoid falling prey to digital arrests and cybercrimes, Dr. Duggal advised staying calm and composed in such situations. One of the key steps is to avoid panicking when faced with suspicious situations. He also strongly recommended not answering calls from unknown numbers, as these could be from scammers trying to create panic or exploit vulnerabilities. By remaining cautious and skeptical of unsolicited calls, individuals can better protect themselves from the ever-growing threats of digital crime.
