Viral Video: Man Brings Dictionary To Shashi Tharoor's Event, Cong MP Says 'This Is Getting...'

A viral video shared on Twitter showed a person literally bringing a dictionary to Shashi Tharoor's event in Nagaland. It also caught the attention of the Thiruvananthapuram MP.

New Delhi: Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, known to be an eloquent English speaker, often becomes a subject of jokes over the word bombs he employs in his speeches and in social media posts which often leaves netizens confused, amused, and searching for a dictionary.

Looks like someone took the joke too seriously, as a video shared on Twitter showed a person literally bringing a dictionary to Shashi Tharoor's event in Nagaland.

"Someone in Nagaland literally brought Oxford Dictionary to my show to listen to Dr. @ShashiTharoor. Bringing Dictionary along was just a joke statement until I saw this," R Lungleng, the host of the event, wrote as he posted a video of the incident.

In the video shared by him, a dictionary is seen on a man's lap as he pans the camera to Shashi Tharoor sitting on the stage.

The video is garnering a lot of views and leaving netizens bemused to see the joke turn into a reality.

It also caught the Thiruvananthapuram MP's attention who tweeted: "I'm always happy to take a good-natured joke in the right spirit, but this is getting too much! Come on, @Rlngleng, post the video of our conversation & let us challenge the audience to find three words I used that required them to look up a dictionary!"

Previously, Tharoor has taken a dig at the BJP using the word 'allodoxaphobia', which he explained as an irrational fear of opinions.

The other wordsmith moments that sent social media into a frenzy have had Shashi Tharoor use words like "floccinaucinihilipilification", "farrago", and "troglodyte."

Besides being a parliamentarian with an illustrious political career, Tharoor is also an author having written at least 23 books, one of which is a book titled 'Tharoorosaurus' where he mentioned 53 unusual words, elaborating their etymology or history with witty examples of their usage.
