'Even Animals Won't Eat': UP Cop Breaks Down Over Poor Quality Mess Food, Police React

"How will cops work if we won't get a proper diet?" the constable asked.

New Delhi: An Uttar Pradesh constable Manoj Kumar in the Firozabad district drew people's attention on social media after his video went viral on Twitter weeping bitterly over the quality of food served in the police mess on Thursday. "The food that is being given, you can see it on my plate, even an animal cannot eat this food, but it is fed to us. It is a scam by the senior superintendent of police and the DCP. Through these people, police personnel are provided poor quality food," Kumar said.

"I am being threatened that I will be fired from my job," he said.

He alleged that police personnel is served watery dal and undercooked rotis at the mess.

"The Chief Minister had earlier announced that the state government provides an allowance to ensure a nutritious diet for police personnel. But this is what we get after long hours of duty," he said.

"How will cops work if we won't get a proper diet?" the constable asked.

Later, Firozabad police also reacted to the incident on Twitter and said, "constable Manoj Kumar has a history of disciplinary issues and has been punished 15 times in the past over irregularity and indiscipline."

A probe has been ordered into the incident, police said.
