The hilarious conversation of between the man, who identified himself as Vijay Verma, and the Hardoi police is now viral on social media.
In a bizarre incident in Uttar Pradesh, the Hardoi police received an unusual call from a man on the eve of Diwali. The man, who was in a distressed state, dialed the police after he returned home and found some items missing from his home.
On questioning the man, the police found out that the man wanted to report the theft of around 250-300 grams of potatoes that went missing from his home while he was away.

"When the police enquired Verma of his grievance, he said, "I had left some potatoes in my house at around 4 pm. I thought that when I will come home, I will prepare the food with it. But the potatoes went missing. This is my family's dispute," Verma, who looked distressed in the video, told the UP Police.

When the police enquired about the potatoes, he said there were 250-300 grams of potatoes left in the house and added that he was not aware of the suspects.
The police then asks Vijay Verma if he has consumed alcohol to which he responds: "Yes, the 'Theka' one...'
"I am somewhat intoxicated. I work hard as a labourer, so I drink sometimes," he added.
As the video went viral, it evoked hilarious responses from social media users who couldn’t help but laugh out loud over the incident.
