Odisha Man Kills Wife With Help Of Two Girlfriends After She Discovers His Extramarital Affair

After the post-mortem findings, police questioned Pradyumna Kumar Das, who ultimately confessed. He along with two women who aided him have been arrested.

A man has been arrested for allegedly killing his wife with the assistance of two girlfriends after she discovered his extramarital affairs in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The accused, Pradyumna Kumar Das, and the two women who aided him have all been taken into custody.

According to a report by India Today, the victim, Subhashree, died on October 28. Das initially brought his wife to a hospital in Bhubaneswar, claiming she had attempted suicide.

However, doctors declared her dead on arrival. Das also reported her supposed suicide attempt to the police that same day, leading them to file a case of unnatural death and send her body for post-mortem. But, the autopsy report revealed bruises on her hands and neck, indicating foul play, and confirmed that she died from an overdose of anesthesia.

After the post-mortem findings, police questioned Das, who ultimately confessed. He admitted to being in a relationship with two other women and conspiring with them to kill his wife.

Investigators discovered that Das had been having affairs with two women, which led to frequent arguments with his wife once she found out. For the past eight months, Subhashree had been staying with her parents.

On October 28, Das persuaded Subhashree to meet him at one of his girlfriends' houses. With anesthesia obtained from his partners, who worked in a pharmacy, they forcibly administered two injections to her, resulting in her death.

Ahmedabad Man Arrested For Killing Same-Sex Partner

In a separate incident, a man has been arrested for killing his same-sex partner 14 years ago in Gujarat's Ahmedabad. Following the murder, he concealed the body using mortar, police said on Saturday (October 26).

According to the city crime branch, after committing the crime, the accused identified as Ramesh Desai fled on victim Manish Sahay's moped, lived in Rajasthan for eight years, and later assumed a new identity to work at a hotel in Mumbai.

The release statement of the crime branch stated that Desai allegedly killed Sahay after an argument on June 29, 2010. He reportedly stripped the body, wrapped it in cloth and tape, and concealed it beneath sand and cement under the kitchen sink of their rented Ahmedabad home.

The decomposed body of Sahay was found days later. Due to the sensitive nature of the case, the crime branch reopened the investigation years later, tracking Desai down near Ahmedabad while he was traveling from Mumbai to Rajasthan. Although he initially provided a false identity, he later admitted his real identity, police stated.
