Most of us prefer to shop online these days. From clothes, groceries to food items everything can be ordered online and delivered to  your doorstep. However, a woman from Bengaluru was in for a surprise when she received an unexpected item in her grocery from the online deliver app Swiggy Instamart. The woman, Paushali Sahu had ordered caramel popcorn packets but also received karela (bitter gourd) and a note along with the order she had placed.

Taking to the microblogging site Twitter Sahu wrote, "Swiggy sent me a bitter gourd with the caramel popcorn packets I ordered yesterday."

The Tweet also included a picture of the vegetable along with the letter from Swiggy Instamart that explained an important life lesson about how sometimes we push away the ones who care about us the most.

"This Friendship Day, let's celebrate the bitter gourds in our lives, because they make better friends," read the note at the end.

The post attracted some humorous comments from Twitter users.

"Now what can you make with one small bitter gourd? At least 250 gms should have been sent! BTW, bitter gourd is one of my favourite veggies!" commented on user on the post.

Other Swiggy users also took to Twitter to share their surprise on receiving a free karela with their order.

"@Swiggy offer hot water bag ke saath karela free," wrote one Swiggy user.

While another user wrote, "Thanks @Swiggy for 1 free karela  My heart is heavy."
