A video of a Lumberjack swinging axe at an amusement park in Canada stuck upside down for nearly half an hour with riders on it has gone viral on the internet. The ride at Wonderland amusement park in Vaughan malfunctioned at 10.40 pm on Saturday with thrill-seekers stuck upwards, reported the Global News. Maintenance staff responded and the ride was brought down by 11:05 pm, the park further said in the statement, according to the Canadian outlet.

In the video shared on the microblogging site X, formerly Twitter, one can see the riders stuck upwards at a 180-degree angle after the Lumberjack ride experienced a malfunction and stopped in its tracks.

"Two guests reported chest pain and were attended to at the park's health centre before being released without need for further medical attention," said park authorities, according to Global News.

Spencer Parkhouse, 11, and his 15-year-old sister Mackenzie Parkhouse, who were on the ride at the time of the incident while speaking to CBC said they thought the entire incident was part of the experience, after the ride came to a halt. But when ambulances started to arrive at the scene is when they realised it was a malfunction.

However, the guests weren't allowed to disembark as the ride as it had to finish once workers fixed it.

"The ride had to still finish. So the ride kept going and we're all like, 'No, please, I don't want to get stuck again'," Spencer was quoted as saying by CBC.

Opened in the year 2018 the Lumberjack ride features two axe-shaped pendulums that reach up to 75ft, reported the New York Post.
