Trending: Woman Takes DNA Test Fed Up With Jokes On Her Looks, Left Shocked By The Result

The woman surnamed Dong, from Xinxiang in Henan province, shared during an interview how her colleagues often commented on her appearance and told her she "did not look local".

A 24-year-old woman's life changed forever after she took a DNA test fed up with constant jokes about her looks. The woman surnamed Dong, from Xinxiang in Henan province, shared during an interview how her colleagues often commented on her appearance and told her she "did not look local", South China Morning Post reported.

The woman was left shocked as the results showed she was not her parents' biological daughter.

"I've always lived in Xinxiang, but after I started working, my colleagues would say, 'You do not look like us at all. Your nose is wide, you have thick lips, and your eyes are bigger and deeper than ours. You do not look like someone from Henan at all," she said, adding that every night she wondered where she really came from.

When she approached her parents for answers, they provided conflicting information and were not even sure about her birth date. Dong, who was confused and curious, decided to take a genetic test.

Woman Suspects Dong Might Be Her Long-Lost Daughter

As the media reported the matter, a woman surnamed Qi reached out, suspecting that Dong might be her long-lost daughter.

"It's quite a coincidence that this young woman is also 24. I look at her and feel she resembles my daughter in every way, but I never saw my daughter after she was born. I experienced immense pain after giving birth and cried to my husband every day, wondering where my daughter went," Qi said.

"If it really turns out she's my family, then it's truly the most wonderful news,” Dong said.

People on social media were amazed by the coincidence. "This is so dramatic, but I hope she just got lost and was not abandoned. That would be so hard to bear! Wishing this young woman finds her birth family soon and sending hugs to her," a netizen said.

"It's important to clarify and figure out if she was kidnapped, sold, or legally adopted. The circumstances make all the difference!” another person commented.
