World Boxing Championships: Telangana CM KCR Congratulates Nikhat Zareen On Winning Gold
CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao remarked on Twitter that Zareen, who won the gold medal with a 5-0 win over Vietnam's boxer Nuyen, is a proud child of Telangana.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao applauded boxer, Nikhat Zareen, on winning the gold medal in the 50 kg category finals at the IBA Women's World Boxing Championship on Sunday. CM KCR remarked on Twitter that Zareen, who won the gold medal with a 5-0 win over Vietnam's boxer Nuyen, is a proud child of Telangana.
KCR said that Zareen, with her successive wins, has once again demonstrated India's popularity worldwide. He praised her for winning the second gold medal of her career at the world championship, describing it as a wonderful event.
He asserted that the Telangana administration is committed to the development of sports and the welfare of sportspersons by encouraging them and will continue efforts in this direction.

With this victory, Nikhat became only the second Indian female pugilist to win two golds at the World Boxing Championships alongside the boxing legend Mary Kom who claimed a record six gold medals in the competition.
"I am very happy to be a world champion for the second time, especially in an Olympic category," Nikhat said after her victory.
The first fight of the day, between the two Asians, was a thrilling battle that came down to the wire. "Today's bout was the most difficult for me because she is an Asian champion, and my next goal is the Asian Games, where I might meet her, so I will work hard," Nikhat said.
