Women Are Not Safe In Telangana Under BRS Rule: BJP Chief Bandi Sanjay
Sanjay alleged that though Dr. Preethi was found dead, the KMC management shifted her to NIMS and enacted the drama of providing treatment.
Telangana BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar has accused the state government of attempting to protect officials responsible for the suicide of Dr Peethi, a postgraduate medical student at Kakatiya Medical College (KMC). Sanjay made the accusations during a dharna, organised to protest against violence against women, at the party office in Hyderabad. He stated that the government's investigation into Dr Preethi's death had made it clear that they were attempting to protect the KMC authorities responsible for her suicide.
Sanjay went on to allege that although Dr Preethi was found dead, the KMC management had shifted her to NIMS and staged a performance of providing treatment. He claimed that the police used the deceased girl's handprints to access her phone and destroyed any evidence that might have linked the accused to the crime.
Sanjay criticised the ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh offered to the victim's family, stating that it did not even cover the cost of the wristwatch worn by KCR's daughter, which costs Rs 20 lakh. He went on to claim that every crime against women in Telangana involved a BRS or AIMIM leader or one of their relatives. Sanjay further claimed that CM KCR had failed to respond to the crimes in the state and was more focused on saving his daughter K Kavitha from the Delhi liquor scam.
Sanjay also alleged that there had been an increase in crime against women in the state and that the BRS government had failed to take action to reduce crime. He stated that women were not safe in Telangana under the BRS rule.
