Telangana: MLA Poaching Row A Drama Of TRS, BJP To Weaken Congress, Says TPCC Chief Revanth Reddy

He also said that all the items found at the crime scene should be seized and deposited in court, and after proper analysis, a charge sheet in the case should be filed.

New Delhi: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief Revanth Reddy on Saturday alleged that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) were working together to weaken the Congress in the state.

Speaking to the media at Kompally in Munugode, Reddy criticized the ruling TRS and BJP for resorting to high-level drama over the MLA poaching row and demanded the case be investigated under the supervision of a sitting judge of the Supreme Court.

Accusing both the parties of conspiring against Congress to derail Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra and to divert the attention of the people from Munugode bypolls, Reddy said, “The CBI, ED and IT organisations are in the hands of the Centre. The state police and ACB are working under the direction of CM K Chandrashekar Rao. In this context, nobody can trust the Central and state governments.”

He further said, “The MLAs were taken to Pragati Bhavan from the crime scene by the police. Since then, those MLAs have not been seen. Where are they? What did they do to them? There are allegations that this affair took place under the supervision of KCR, who is the gang leader of these MLAs. If so, KCR should be included as A1 and KTR as A2, and then the MLAs should be included as accused.”

He also said that all the items found at the crime scene should be seized and deposited in court, and after proper analysis, a charge sheet in the case should be filed.

The Congress chief also demanded CM KCR should give a public explanation about what happened in the whole episode.

According to reports, a case of criminal conspiracy and prevention of corruption was registered by Moinabad police on October 27, following which the Cyberabad police registered a case on the complaint of TRS MLA Rohit Reddy, who alleged that the three accused Ramachandra Bharati, Nandakumar, and Simhayaji Nandu came to the farmhouse in the outskirts of Hyderabad as part of the deal and ‘pressured’ them to join the BJP.

He was reportedly offered Rs 100 crores to join the party. Police seized an amount of Rs 15 crores from the farmhouse.

BJP Candidate Spent Rs 5 Crore To Buy Votes Ahead Of Munugode Bypolls, Says TRS

Meanwhile, the ruling TRS lodged a complaint with the Election Commission of India alleging that BJP candidate Rajagopal Reddy transferred huge amounts of money to different bank accounts in Munugode assembly constituency to buy votes.

The party accused Reddy of spending Rs 5 crore to buy votes ahead of the byelections.
