Telangana: Mahabubnagar District Administration Translocate 4 100-Year-Old Giant Trees To Eco Park - Watch
In order to set up integrated meat and vegetable market at the R&B Guest House in Mahabubnagar, the trees in that region had to be translocated
New Delhi: Making effective strides to conserve nature, in a novel initiative Mahabubnagar district administration has translocated four giant trees from R&B Guest House to KCR Eco Park. The giant trees are estimated to be 100-year-old and this was done under Green India Challenge.
In order to set up integrated meat and vegetable market at the R&B Guest House in Mahabubnagar, the trees had to be translocated to a different place. This translocated happened under the supervision of Excise Minister V Srinivas Goud and Mahabubnagar district Collector S Venkat Rao, India Today reported.
TRS Rajya Sabha member J Santosh Kumar called the move a "development without causing harm to mother nature." He further wrote on his Twitter, "Appreciate the efforts of Minister V Srinivas Goud garu, Mahabubnagar Collector S Venkat Rao garu and Vata Foundation for their efforts to translocate these age-old neem Trees to KCR-Eco-park. Kudos to the commitment."

Srinivas Goud complimented the district authorities for successfully saving the trees. Taking this to his Twitter, he wrote, "Successfully translocated 4 giant trees which are estimated to be 100 years old from R&B Guest House to KCR Eco Urban Park in Mahabubnagar. Special thanks to Hon’ble MP Santosh Kumar Garu for providing the necessary assistance in saving the trees."

Green India Challenge founder MP Santosh Kumar, Mahabubnagar collector and minister Srinivas Goud were lauded by the people of the town for preventing the tree felling and carefully translocating the giant trees to eco park.
