Telangana Govt To Bear Expenses Incurred For Education Of Over 700 Ukraine-Return Students

In response to the Hijab controversy, KCR stated that many people attempt to destabilise the country's peace.

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Tuesday announced in the Assembly Session that the Telangana government will bear the expenses incurred for the education of over 740 students who have returned from war-torn Ukraine to complete their medical study in India.

He told the Assembly that the state government would write to the Centre requesting permission for 740 students who had returned from Ukraine to finish their MBBS programme in India.

KCR said that because the students' future is uncertain owing to the current circumstances in Ukraine, the state government is willing to cover the costs of their MBBS.

"More than 25,000 Indian students were residing in Ukraine. It is estimated that more than 700 students would be from Telangana. They went since it was studying in India has become expensive and they couldn't afford it. However, the question of how they will continue their education remains unanswered," KCR stated, emphasising that they will not stop.

In response to the Hijab controversy, KCR said, "Many people attempt to destabilise the country's peace. They are attempting to plant toxic seeds in our land."

He claimed that the country's overall atmosphere promotes discord and ill feelings, and he warned the country's youth to be wary of those attempting to destroy communal cohesion.
