The 21-day celebrations planned across the state will serve as an opportunity to showcase the progress achieved by Telangana in various sectors over the past nine years.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao launched state formation day celebrations on Friday by hoisting the national flag and paying tributes to the leaders of the Telangana movement at the Martyrs' Memorial in Hyderabad. The 21-day celebrations planned across the state will serve as an opportunity to showcase the progress achieved by Telangana in various sectors over the past nine years. Telangana's formation as the 29th state on June 2, 2014, was the result of a significant mass agitation led by K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) and his party, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS). The movement for a separate Telangana state gained momentum in 2001, when KCR revived it.
