According to an IANS report, Congress MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy stated on Wednesday that the party was attempting to bring in two suspended leaders of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and two BJP leaders. The Bhongir MP mentioned his intention to hold discussions with Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy and Rajender. Rajagopal Reddy, who had joined the BJP after resigning from Congress last year, contested the by-election for the Munugode assembly seat as a BJP candidate but was unsuccessful.
Rajender resigned from TRS (now BRS) in 2021 and joined the BJP after Chief Minister KCR removed him from the Cabinet, alleging that he had illegally acquired land belonging to farmers. Rajender also stepped down from his position as MLA for Huzurabad and contested the by-election on a BJP ticket. He emerged as a prominent leader of the saffron party after winning the by-election.
