Telangana BJP Chief Bandi Sanjay Wants ‘Sedition Case’ Against CM KCR Over 'New Constitution' Remark
Sanjay claimed that during his time as a union minister, CM KCR was involved in a scam.
Hyderabad: Telangana BJP chief Bandi Sanjay thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for presenting what he called a "revolutionary and historic" budget to the country.
He strongly condemned the language used by Telangana CM K. Chandrashekar Rao against PM Modi and FM Sitharaman in a press meet Tuesday after the Union Budget was presented in Parliament.
Addressing a virtual press conference from New Delhi after the CM’s press meet, Sanjay said the people of Telangana were "hanging their heads in shame" because of the kind of language "used by a person sitting in the CM’s chair".
He said sedition charges should be brought against KCR for his wish for a "new constitution", which the BJP leader said was an insult to BR Ambedkar and a ploy to create "social disorder" across the country.
Stating that KCR had previously claimed the BJP would rewrite the Constitution of India if it came to power, Sanjay asked if anyone could say this now that the party has made any modification in it. He requested the Dalit community to respond to the statements made by KCR Tuesday.

The BJP president also called the CM "anti-Dalit", saying he did not appoint a Dalit CM as promised. He said KCR "removed" his Dalit deputy CM, and further "fooled" the community with what he called a non-starter 'Dalit Bandhu' project.
Sanjay said KCR was also involved in a scam when he was a Union minister.
He objected to the CM's assertion that the BJP is utilising social media to disseminate the message that Ramanujacharya's idol is being erected with BJP assistance. "KCR is concerned that no one would care about him if Prime Minister Narendra Modi attends the inauguration," he said.
In his press meet Tuesday, CM Rao had called Narendra Modi a "short-sighted man", his government "telivi takkuva (senseless)" and the BJP a "daridrapu gottu (disgraceful)" party.
He called the Union Budget a "lie" and "deciet" and criticised Sitharaman using strong words.
