Telangana: 5 Killed In Road Accident At Parvathipuram Manyam District

Five people died on the spot in this incident. Two others who were seriously injured were taken to the hospital.

Five people were killed and two seriously injured after a speeding truck collided with a auto at Chollapadam village at Parvathipuram Manyam District. According to an ABP Desam report, the residents of Antivalasa village in Komarada mandal have hired an auto rickshaw to attend a marriage function in Tummalavalasa village. While they are returning to their village a truck travelling towards Odisha collided with the auto.

Five people died on the spot in this incident. Two others who were seriously injured were taken to the hospital. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and started rescue operations. More details about this incident are yet to be known.

In another incident, four people, including a woman and her son, were killed after the car they were travelling in collided with a truck in Balod district of Chhattisgarh, a police official told PTI on Wednesday.

According to the official, the incident occurred on Tuesday, late at night, near Khapparwada village under Gunderdehi police station limits, when the victims were on their way to Balod from Raipur. All four are said to have died on the spot. The victims were identified as Simran Saluja (48), her son Rajveer Saluja (19), Ashok and Umesh Sahu (24).

Reportedly, the woman and her son, both residents of Balod, had gone to Raipur for some family work when their car broke down. They then rented a car and were returning home in it along with their driver, Ashok. The official said that Sahu was driving the hired vehicle.
It was when they reached Khapadwada that their car collided with a truck carrying iron, after which locals informed police.

"The car collided head-on with an iron-ore-laden truck that was coming from the opposite direction, leaving all four occupants dead on the spot," the police official said.

As soon as the police were informed, the team rushed immediately to the spot and sent the bodies for postmortem.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered in connection with the incident, and efforts are on to trace the truck driver who fled from the scene.
