Telangana: 15 Students Arrived In Hyderabad From Ukraine

"As per our info, 2nd batch of students will be repatriated in Delhi. From there, Telangana-Andhra students will come to Hyderabad," said DCP Shamshabad R Jagadishwar Reddy

New Delhi: After being moved to the Romanian border from war-torn Ukraine, students from Telangana studying in Ukrainian universities have been safely evacuated and arrived in Hyderabad on Sunday.

15 students, who were stranded in Ukraine, have arrived in Hyderabad after they were evacuated and brought to Delhi by other students. Shamshabad MLA T Prakash Goud and the local corporator have received the students.

"As per our info, 2nd batch of students will be repatriated in Delhi. From there, Telangana-Andhra students will come to Hyderabad. All facilities provided to them to get back home, they're provided cab facility to reach home from the airport," said DCP Shamshabad R Jagadishwar Reddy as quoted by news agency ANI.

After arrival, speaking to the media, students said that the Indian Embassy was supportive and has guided throughout the process of evacuation from Ukraine. "Embassy took us to the Romanian border, passports were checked there & we entered Romania and were repatriated to India," said students who arrived today.

Telangana Minister KT Rama Rao said in a tweet that they have been receiving multiple requests from parents about their wards who are stranded and as well as students. The minister has assured that they will attend all the stranded students from Telangana as soon as possible.
