'Security Wing's Decision, KCR Had No Role': Kavitha On Telangana CM's Charge At Previous BRS Govt

BRS MLC Kavitha was responding to Telangana CM Revanth Reddy's comment alleging that the previous BRS government purchased 22 Toyota Land Cruiser vehicles without public knowledge.

BRS MLC Kavitha responded to Telangana CM Revanth Reddy's comment alleging that the previous BRS government purchased 22 Toyota Land Cruiser vehicles without public knowledge. She expressed her disappointment with the current CM's perception and emphasized that the security arrangements for a Chief Minister and other VIPs are handled by the police and other security agencies, with politicians not having a role in those matters.

According to PTI, speaking to reporters in Warangal, Kavitha said, "Ultimately, the protocol of any CM is decided by the security wing, Intelligence and the police. There is no role of politicians in that."

"It (the purchase of vehicles) was decided like that and it was unfortunate that the current CM (Revanth Reddy) thinks so, but it is not the case," she said.

Further, Kavitha stated that it is not fair for the Chief Minister to make an issue out of it and belittle the matter.

Earlier, BRS MLC K Kavitha urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to confer national festival status upon the South Indian Kumbh Mela, Sammakka Saralamma Jatara. According to ANI, BRS MLC K Kavitha said, "Tribals from across the nation come here for the Sammakka Saralamma Jatara. We call this the South Indian Kumbh Mela. To respect this tradition, honour of our state, we have been time and again demanding with the Central govt that a national festival status should be given to Sammakka Saralamma Jatara and this will be perceived by many people as respect given to themselves."

"We request the PM to think about this and give it the national festival status," he said.

"Millions of people gather once in two years, and it's coming again in February. So, I would request the BJP to consider this request," said BRS MLC.

The Sammakka Saralamma Jatara is a four-day festival that commences with the arrival of the goddesses at Gaddelu in Medaram and concludes with their vanapravēsham (entry into the forest). In 2008, the festival witnessed an estimated attendance of nearly 8 million people, highlighting its immense cultural and religious significance and drawing participants from various regions to partake in the celebrations.
