Runaway Teen Rescued By Police Becomes Top Scorer In Telangana Board Class 12 Exams

The young girl scored the highest marks in Kallam Anji Reddy Vocational Junior College with a score of 945 in the class 12 exams, with the ambition to become a mathematics professor.

A 17-year-old girl who ran away from her family due to intercaste love and was later rescued by police has emerged as the top scorer in the Telangana board Class 12 exams from the shelter where she resides. According to a report in The Times of India, the young girl left her home and academic pursuits to elope with her partner but was subsequently rescued by the police as she was a minor. However, her family rejected her, leading to her placement in a children's home for girls in Hyderabad.

After two years of being in the government shelter, she achieved the highest marks at Kallam Anji Reddy Vocational Junior College, scoring 945 in the class 12 exams. Her ambition is to become a mathematics professor.

"Just a month or two months ago, I resumed talking to my parents. When they learned about my marks, they were really happy and asked me to come back. I haven't thought if I will go back," she told TOI.

"I cannot really say that if I was with my partner, my studies would have ended. He knew I loved maths and would have encouraged me, but of course, I would have to work and do all things alone," she said.

According to guardians at the girl's home, she was always a bright child, which contributed to her success despite the difficult experiences she endured in her childhood.

Her future plans involve pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce course at her college.

"I have decided to opt for BCom because I can study, do some accounting work, and become a professor. I want to go back home only after I earn money," she said.
