Hyderabad: The demands of the people in the suburbs of Maharashtra and Karnataka to merge their villages and towns in Telangana are increasing, as claimed by the people's representatives in those regions. Recently, the people of Raichur, a Karnataka district bordering Telangana, want it to be merged with Telangana.
Raichur BJP MLA Dr Shivaraj Patil expressed concern over the region's farmers and stated that if Raichur were merged with Telangana, it would prosper. On social media, a video of Patil's speech at the meeting went viral. The video was shared on social media by Minister KT Rama Rao and the latter expressed his view that the TRS fame has crossed borders.
"Validation for Telangana coming from across the border; Karnataka BJP MLA says Raichur should be merged in Telangana & the audience welcomes the suggestion with applause," Tweeted KTR, with a retweet of the video, where the Raichur MLA expresses that the district should be merged with Telanagana.

People from neighboring states have demanded the merging of villages and districts under the Raichur district with Telangana on several occasions. Leaders from Maharashtra's Nanded, Nalgaon, Bhokar, Degloor, Kinwat, and Hathagaon met with Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao in 2019 and requested that their villages be merged in Telangana.
Some parts of Maharashtra and some parts of Karnataka were part of the separatist state of Nizam. However, after the formation of the linguistic states, the Nizam divided the Marathi-speaking areas in Maharashtra and the Kannada-speaking areas in Karnataka.
