Heartbreaking! Five Sisters In Telangana Tie Rakhi To Dead Brother Before Funeral

Chinthapally Lakshmaiah, 50, who was suffering from prolonged illness died on Sunday morning. But his sisters tied rakhi to their brother’s hand before the funeral procession began.

Chennai: In a heartbreaking incident, five sisters tied rakhi on the wrist of their dead brother before the funeral procession in Telangana. 

The incident took place at Malagudem village near Madgulapally Mandal in Nalgonda district in the state, according to a report from ANI. 

The report said, Chinthapally Lakshmaiah, 50, who was suffering from prolonged illness died on Sunday morning. 

According to media reports, five sisters of Lakshmaiah - Erra Lakshmamma, Nama Padma, Allapuri Venkatamma, Kadiri Kotamma and Jakki Kavitha - who are residing in different villages, came to their brother’s house on Saturday night to celebrate Raksha Bandhan which fell on Sunday. But he died in the early morning hours of Sunday, leaving the sisters devastated. 

However, the sisters had tied rakhi to their brother’s hand before the funeral procession began. The incident has left the village devastated.

In another incident, five sisters who had planned to celebrate Raksha Bandhan with their brothers, had attended the cremation of their brother at Bami village Nanded district in Maharashtra on Sunday. 

According to a Times of India report, Sudhakar Shinde, 45, an Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) assistant commandant, was killed in a Maoist attack in Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur district on August 20. He took 13 bullets and died on the spot when a group of armed Maoists fired on ITBP personnel in Narayanpur. He was cremated with full state honours on Sunday morning.

Quoting Haribhau Waghmare, Shinde’s collegemate, the report said that he was the eldest of seven siblings. He is survived by his wife, two children and his elderly parents.
