Delhi Liquor Policy Case: ED Raids Several Places In Andhra Pradesh, Telangana
Multiple raids are being carried out in 40 places across the country.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is conducting raids at several places in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana related to the Delhi liquor policy. For conducting the search operations, 25 ED teams are deployed in Hyderabad.
On Friday, Enforcement officials started the raids at Jayabheri Apartments in the Raidurgam area in Hyderabad. The sleuths also raided multiple places in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh, Chennai and Bengaluru. The searches by the ED is being conducted at 40 places across the country.
Ramachandran Pillai’s companies and Home at six places in Hyderabad havee been raided. Pillai is the director of Hyderabad-based Robin Distilleries Private Ltd. Houses of company partners Abhishek Rao and G Premsagar's are also being searched.
Earlier, on September 6, ED had conducted searches at over 35 locations in Delhi and other cities in connection with the liquor policy case. Searches were carried out at the premises of those involved in the liquor trade including manufacturers allegedly involved in drafting the new liquor policy enforced by the AAP government in Delhi.

The ED initiated its probe based on the FIR by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed in the liquor policy case. The FIR named Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and some bureaucrats as accused.
On Thursday, Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia lashed out at Bharatiya Janata Party over its sting operation alleging the AAP government of corruption in “handing over contracts for liquor licences” under the excise policy introduced by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Reacting to the BJP’s move, Sisodia took to Twitter and said, “CBI raided my house, nothing was found. Nothing was found in the locker. CBI/ED investigated, found nothing. Now BJP has come with sting. CBI/ED should also investigate this sting. If the allegations are true, arrest me by Monday. Otherwise, the PM should apologise to me for doing a false sting on Monday.”
