Delhi Excise Policy Case: Won't Summon BRS MLC Kavitha Till November 20, ED Informs SC

The Enforcement Directorate said that it will not summon BRS leader K Kavitha in the Delhi excise policy case till the court hears her plea on November 20.

In a relief to BRS MLC Kavitha, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) informed that it will not summon the Telangana leader in the Delhi excise policy case till November 20. The ED on Tuesday informed the Supreme Court that it will not summon BRS leader K Kavitha in the Delhi excise policy case till the court hears her plea on November 20.

According to PTI, ED tells SC it will not summon BRS leader K Kavitha in the Delhi excise policy case till the court hears her plea on November 20.

While the court was hearing a plea by Kavitha challenging the summons issued by ED on November 20, a bench of Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Sudhanshu Dhulia told Additional Solicitor General SV Raju, appearing for the Enforcement Directorate, "Don’t call her in the meantime."

For this, Raju assured the bench that Kavitha will not be called for questioning till November 20, as reported by PTI.

On September 14, ED summoned Kavitha, who is also the daughter of Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao, for questioning on September 15 in connection with Delhi excise policy case in New Delhi. In March, Kavitha was questioned multiple time at ED headquarters and she was also made to submit her mobile phones to the ED.

Previously, ED recorded the statement of Butchibabu, an accountant, who allegedly has links with Kavitha.

Butchibabu, as per Deccan Herald said, there was a political understanding between K Kavitha and the chief minister (Arvind Kejriwal) and deputy chief minister (Manish Sisodia).

However, Kavitha rubbished the claims against her and said that she did not do any wrong. She also accused BJP-led Centre of using ED against her.
