Central Team To Visit Telangana To Take Stock Of Situation After Floods, Rain
A Central team will visit Telangana on Monday to take stock of damage caused by floods and heavy rain.
An Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) led by National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Advisor Kunal Satyarthi will visit Telangana on Monday to assess the damage caused by floods following incessant rainfall in the state. The team will consist of representatives of ministries and departments of Agriculture, Finance, Jal Shakti, Power, Road Transport and Highways and the National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC). As per a release from the office of Union Minister and Telangana BJP president G Kishan Reddy, the central team is being dispatched to the state on the instructions of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. PTI reported that at least 18 people died in various rain-related incidents due to the downpour that lashed Telangana during the past week.
The Union Minister tweeted, "Pursuant to the meeting of senior leaders of @BJP4Telangana, Hon’ble Union Minister for Home Affairs Shri @AmitShah Ji has instructed the Home Secretary to immediately despatch a high-powered inter-ministerial team to Telangana for assessment of the damage caused by floods. The Inter-Ministerial team will be visiting the state for an on-the-spot assessment of the damage from 31st July 2023."

The team is visiting the state in view of the urgency of the matter. It may visit the state again after the required submissions of damage are made by the IMCT and the state.
Incessant rainfall lashed parts of the state during the last week which resulted in the inundation of the low-lying areas. The Godavari river is also overflowing. However, the downpours came to a halt on Saturday following which relief work gained momentum.
The weather agency has predicted that heavy rain might occur at isolated places in the districts of Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Jagityal, Rajanna Sirsilla, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem of Telangana on August 1.
